A Little Lack

I have a lack,
A little lack,
A lack that’s all my own.
It teaches me to ask and see,
It sets my feet to roam.
It whispers in the dead of night,
Laughs aloud at dawn,
It sits still for a little while
And then it must move on.
And if I tell my little lack
Be quiet and stay still,
I have a little bigger lack
Because it never will.
